Paul Walker's Cause of Death Determined by Coroner

   

Rumors have been swirling about the cause of Paul Walker's death since the Fast & Furious actor diedtragically in a car crash on Saturday, but now we have official word on what exactly lead to his demise.


The L.A. County Coroner's Office has released a statement saying the actor, 40, passed away due to a combination of "traumatic and thermal injuries." This means that the impact of the crash did not solely kill the star, but rather the collision combined with the resulting fire. The driver, Walker's friend Roger Rodas, died upon impact and burning was not listed as a factor in his death. 

Police ruled out joyriding or drag racing as factors in the car crash, despite reports that Walker and Rodas had been engaging in the illegal activities. 

Walker's family and friends, including Tyrese Gibson, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson and Vin Diesel, have made appearances at the crash site to pay tribute to the departed actor, along with hundreds of fans who are keeping vigil and laying down flowers. "Paul Walker's family appreciates the outpouring of love and goodwill from his many fans and friends," the Walker family said in an official statement. "They have asked, in lieu of flowers or other gifts, that donations please be made to Paul's charity, Reach Out Worldwide (ROWW).
