Kanye West Accused of Anti-Semitism

Kanye West may be good for those conversation-starting one-liners ("George Bush doesn't like Black people," "I'ma let you finish, but..." and his most recent, "You don't have the answers!"), but they usually get him trouble.

This time, reports HipHopDX, the Anti-Defamation League, self-described as "the world's leading organization fighting anti-Semitism," is asking for an apology after catching wind of West's recent interview on Power 105.1's The Breakfast Club.
"Let me tell you about George Bush and oil money, and Obama and no money," West said live on air in New York City. "People want to say, 'Obama can't make these moves,' or 'He's not executing.' That's because he ain't got those connections. Black people don't have the same level of connections as Jewish people. Black people don't have the same connection as oil people."
To which Abraham H. Foxman, National Director of the ADL, responded via a press release, "There it goes again, the age-old canard that Jews are all-powerful and control the levers of power in government. As a celebrity with a wide following, Kanye West should know better. We hope that he will take responsibility for his words, understand why they are so offensive, and apologize to those he has offended."
West has turnt up and made himself humble on various occasions during this rare media run (made in conjunction with his Yeezus tour). His interviews have focused on the frustrations he's been encountering as a Black man breaking his way through the glass ceilings and concrete roofs in the fashion industry. He's said he wants to be the "Obama of clothing."
He's yet to publicly address this ADL request.
