Joey Bada$$ Responds to Kendrick Lamar's "King of New York" Verse

    Joey Bada$$

Kendrick Lamar riled up the Internet last night thanks to his "King of New York" proclamation on Big Sean's"Control" track, and Brooklyn native Joey Bada$$ was one of the first to respond.
Taking to Twitter last night (Aug. 12) Joey didn't slight the Compton-bred TDE rapper for the lyric, instead he took aim at Sean, calling his verse "weak" and exposing other rappers for not being honest. "A lot of u rap nikkkaz scared to speak your opinions f--- dot!!!"

The teenager's critique was eventually misconstrued as a diss towards Lamar, which he clarified was not the intention. "How can ya'll think I'm hating on Kendrick right now? Much respect to him for bodying everybody," Joey wrote. "This day marks a new rap game kno dat."
Not every New York rhymer took Lamar's line as a positive change in the hip hop grid, fellow Brooklyn nativeFabolous took it as a challenge for the throne, tweeting, "Any studios open yet?"
For all the rap reactions spawned from a single line, Lamar has yet to hit back.
