Lesbian moms abandon their children at bar to go on booze cruise

                                                           

A lesbian couple was arrested after they treated themselves to a booze cruisewhile leaving their children at a bar.

The two mothers have been charged with cruelty after leaving their children at a beach bar in order to go on a “Mother’s Day booze cruise,” police said.

Billie Jean Williams, 27, and Mary Joyce Daffron, 28, were arrested after their 8-year-old and 6-year-old children, went to staff members at the Gator Joe’s Bar and Grill in Ocklawaha, Florida, and said their mothers were gone. Staff at the bar called police.

The mothers allegedly told police they left their children in the care of a manwho they had met earlier that day. The man who was identified only as John, told police he knew one of the women from high school, according to the Sheriff’s Office of Marion County.

The man told police that the Williams and Daffron had taken off on the booze cruise an hour earlier. Belongings of the women were lying on the beach near where they left their children to play. When the cruise returned to the coast, the women were highly intoxicated.

The women told police that they left the young children in the care of a “godfather” despite the fact that neither of the women knew his name. Williams berated her eight-year-old for having called the police.

The women were arrested on Sunday and the two children were handed over to their relatives.

“It does not matter if they are two mothers or a mother and a father, any parent who leaves their children with a stranger were their children don’t feel safe should be investigated. Parents have a responsibility to keep their children safe,” Nancy Walker, 30, of Rochester, Minnesota told YourJewishNews.com after learning about the incident.

Williams and Daffron have been charged with cruelty toward a child. Daffron faces an additional charge of resisting arrest without violence. Bail was set at $5,000 for Williams. She was released after posting bail. Daffron remained jailed on Monday after bail was set at $5,500.
