Watch our latest episode on the problem of domestic violence in Nigeria – whether you are a wife or a husband.
Nigeria has one of the highest rates of domestic abuse in Africa:
Over two-thirds of Nigerian women have claimed to have suffered physical, physiological and sexual abuse according to an Amnesty International report inLagos and Oyo. They called the numbers – “shocking.”
“The thing that causes the most friction now in homes is that, maybe, the wife works and she comes back home late – that causes friction,” says James.
“Is the man supposed to enter the kitchen?” asks Harry.

“Somehow, somewhere we began to look at women as the sex that needed to be saved,” says James
