Nigeria is listed as one of the 10 countries directly on the line of impact from asteroid collision, a threat that can wipe out the entire country, even the world at one instance
The faint light of dawn is just about pouring over the cobbled streets of Victoria Island, Lagos, in the year 2029 when a streaking burning fire lights the skyline. People in the streets are captivated but tremulous as the trajectory of the burning object in the sky spirals downwards. Suddenly window glasses within the perimeter of the Island shatter with devastating consequences, while telecommunication signals are knocked out. Instinctively, people run helter-skelter, thinking that the end of the world has come.
Just as they run, they appear to be chased by the burning object, which by now breaks into fragments and torpedoes to the ground, hitting buildings, bridges and effecting maximum destruction, leading to the loss of several lives. Minutes after the impact, the whole of Lagos Island is flattened with a force that is a thousand times more powerful than the atomic bomb that was first dropped on Hiroshima, Japan, on August 6, 1945 during World War II.
